Flat world - script crashes
« on: November 06, 2016, 09:11:20 am »
Hi Paul
And the world is flat!
In Google Maps there are grey bands, each above and below the map itself. When double-clicking into this band, or close to it repeatedly, a script crashes and tears everything over the edge into the depths of the universe. You have to stop this script, and then no button will work, the browser must be killed then. (Firefox 49.0.2 / WIN 1607)

Regards
Dieter

Thanks for the tip. I have never tried that. Definitely needs some testing and fixing.

Since I also worked as a software tester, I am used to make crazy things. At the moment I travel with the Oasis from Murmansk to Longyearbyen on Spitsbergen, and after that I let her go over the edge in the north. Maybe I can take some photos.

Greeting

After a nice trip from Southampton over Stavanger, Tromso, North Cape, Kirkenes and Murmansk we went on to Longyearbyen. There I took all the passengers off board. Your former First Officer has hired, and was allowed to cross the edge with the Oasis. At first she was visible for a while in the gray band, but then she was gone.
The menu button, the track button and the multiplayer butten no longer worked. Navigation chart button, fullscreen button and the mute button were all right. The mooring button told me: Slow down ... But Oasis fell into nirvana anyway. Horn and anchor did not work.
Oasis was still listed in the 'ships in game' menu, you could load her again, and she fidgeted as a multiple image on the screen.
Now you can see in this menu that she is still moving.

This is just for reporting.

Anyway, could someone pick up the people there with his ship? They are still waiting for the journey home.
